in the design and construction of building services
installations in a wide range of buildings and
Tony’s qualifications and professional affiliations are:
· Bachelor of Engineering, University of WA;
· Member Institution of Engineers Australia;
· Member College of Mechanical Engineers
· Chartered Professional Engineer and NPER-3 Registration – Category Building Services;
· Member Australian Institute of Refrigeration Air Conditioning & Heating Inc. (AIRAH);
Experience has included a range of mechanical services work, including air conditioning, ventilation, heating and refrigeration from initial feasibility study through to construction, commissioning and handover.
Tony’s work has also included some electrical services, fire protection systems, vertical transportation and industrial equipment design. Some assignments have included project management and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary design and construction.
Project assignments have extended Australia-wide including WA, Victoria, New South Wales and the Northern Territory.
Overseas work has included appointments in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Peoples Republic of China, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
Tony has particular interest in human comfort as it relates to indoor environmental conditions and to optimising the energy consumption of air conditioning and ventilation systems.
Related study and work has involved investigating and reporting on low energy systems. A recent project has involved the use of underground ducts and ‘cellar’ cooling of ventilation air. Work has also been carried out on natural ventilation and thermal simulation studies.
Tony has also played an active role in professional societies, including the Society of Building Services Engineers and has promoted the preservation, collection and availability of industry knowledge for industry practitioners.
